What drew you to this type of work?
I was drawn to this work through a deep curiosity about human behavior and the ways early experiences, relationships, and unmet needs shape how we show up in the world. I've always been interested in the why beneath the symptoms—not just helping people feel better in the moment, but helping them understand themselves more fully. I'm especially passionate about the complexities of the female mind and helping women develop the kind of self-awareness that puts them in control of their emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. When we understand the root of our experiences, we can make conscious, healthy choices about how we respond. My hope is to help women become so self-assured that they no longer need external validation, but instead trust their own inner compass.
What do you value most in the therapeutic relationship?
Trust is at the heart of everything I value in the therapeutic relationship. When you come into therapy, you're inviting me into your inner world—a space that's incredibly vulnerable and personal. I'm truly honored each time someone allows me in. I believe every person deserves to feel they can trust me to show up fully for them, creating a safe space where we can explore the deeper layers together. My hope is to be there alongside you—offering support, guidance, and a steady presence—so that you never feel alone as we work to get to the root of what's underneath it all.
Who might benefit most from working with you?
I work best with women who are high-functioning on the outside but struggling internally—professionals, mothers, women going through life transitions. If you're the person everyone relies on, the one who keeps it all together while feeling overwhelmed and stretched thin, this space is for you. Therapy with me is where you can finally let your guard down, process the emotions you've been holding, and feel truly seen and validated. Together, we'll work through what's beneath the surface so you can leave each session feeling more grounded, clear, and ready to take on whatever comes next—not from a place of survival, but from a place of strength.
What types of clients tend to work best with your approach?
My approach resonates most with clients who are ready and willing to do the inner work. These are people who don't just want surface-level solutions—they want to deeply understand themselves and their experiences so they can show up more clearly in their relationships and in their own lives. They're open to exploring their own role in situations, taking accountability for their choices, and recognizing patterns that may no longer serve them. If you're someone who craves that kind of self-awareness and wants to feel truly in control of your emotions and behaviors, rather than feeling controlled by them, we're likely a great match. This kind of work takes vulnerability and commitment, but it's also incredibly empowering.
“I have never met a more compassionate, empathetic, and caring person like Nikki Woods. Before coming to Navesink Wellness Center, I was in a really bad place in my life. Nikki has gone above and beyond to help me work through and overcome my problems, as well as build a life for myself that I can now say I love. I can finally say that I am becoming the person I have always hoped I would be, which is a direct result of Nikki’s guidance and help along the way. I am not sure what I would do had I not come here to begin working with her. Anyone and everyone needs to come to Navesink Wellness Center and experience how wonderful everyone here is! “
