What do you value most in the therapeutic relationship?
I value creating a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, collaboration, and genuine compassion. Many clients come to therapy during vulnerable or high-stress moments, and it is essential that they feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. I believe meaningful healing begins when clients feel safe enough to share their experiences openly and know they are not navigating challenges alone.
How does your training shape the way you approach therapy?
My training in social work and my experience in medical, crisis, and community-based settings strongly inform my approach to therapy. I view each client within the context of their environment, relationships, and life circumstances, while also focusing on practical tools that support emotional regulation, coping, and stability. This allows me to balance emotional processing with concrete strategies that help clients manage real-world challenges.
What types of clients tend to resonate most with your approach?
Clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, medical challenges, or major life transitions often resonate with my approach. I frequently work with individuals and families experiencing high levels of stress, complex family dynamics, or uncertainty related to health, caregiving, or psychiatric concerns. Those seeking a supportive, collaborative space to process difficult experiences while building practical coping skills tend to find our work especially helpful.
How do you integrate different modalities to meet each client where they are?
I integrate evidence-based modalities such as CBT, solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based interventions while maintaining a person-in-environment perspective. My approach is flexible and tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from different modalities depending on their goals, emotional readiness, and life circumstances. Whether clients need crisis support, skill-building, or space to process grief and transition, I adapt the work to support them in a way that feels both compassionate and effective.
“Megan is wonderful to work with. She really listens and makes you feel understood, like she truly sees the whole person you are. I always leave our sessions feeling supported, calmer, and more confident in how to handle what’s going on in my life. She’s compassionate, practical, and makes a big difference just by being there.”
