Donald G. Nicholson, MSW, LSW
With nearly 30 years of experience, primarily in educational settings, Donald has dedicated his career to supporting individuals through challenges such as conflict, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, academic stress, family trauma, family conflict, behavioral concerns, oppositional defiance, ADHD, emotional regulation, impulse control, and decision-making, among others. Before joining Navesink Wellness Center, Donald served as a clinician at a social service agency in Northern New Jersey.
Donald’s background as both a school social worker and teacher uniquely equips him to work with clients from late childhood (around age ten) through young adulthood. He is especially attuned to the struggles that can arise in educational settings, within family systems, and in forming or sustaining meaningful personal relationships. His goal is to provide guidance and support as clients navigate these challenges.
As a therapist, Donald emphasizes a collaborative, team-based approach—working side by side with clients to address the issues that brought them to therapy. He believes that at the heart of every successful therapeutic process is a respectful and trusting relationship, built on client engagement, mutual understanding, and the motivation to achieve realistic, meaningful outcomes.
